Hello again, and welcome to this weeks
letter. I hope this week has treated you well so
far.
I've managed to go and catch a cold (which
wasn't very smart of me). Luckily I'm not the
type who curls up in bed and complains that they
are going to die when I get a cold. But I
certainly don't feel super chirpy today!
Still, I think I'm in the final stages now. I
just wish my ears weren't blocked - it's making
hearing a bit difficult, and doing very strange
things to my eardrums when Marina plays music on
her computer!

Sometimes I could just kick myself when I
realize how blind I've been.
I'm sure you've heard of Google AdSense (the
little ads you can put on your own web site, and
get paid for when people click on them). Maybe
you've even played with it. I had toyed with it
a little, but never seriously (just earning a
few dollars a day).
Then I was contacted by Joel Comm, author of
"What Google Never Told You About Making Money
with AdSense!". He wanted to know if I would
take a look at his book.

His story sounded impressive, so I checked
out his book and tried the suggestions he
made.
To cut a long story short - *wow*! His
methods have given me a 600% improvement in my
results almost overnight - and that was by only
making a couple of simple changes!
Sure, I can't go out and buy a new car yet
with what I'm now earning. But it has really
opened my eyes to just what is possible with
Google AdSense. As you can probably guess, I'm
planning on doing a lot more with it in the
coming weeks! :-)
But I have to tell you that Joel's book isn't
for everyone. It doesn't tell you the basics of
Google AdSense, or how to put AdSense on your
own site - Joel expects you to read Google's
help information to find that out. But what it
does tell you is the results of his experiments
on what does and doesn't work.
I highly recommend Joel's book - it's added
quite a bit to my income already, and those
results are only going to grow!

As an added bonus, if you order through the
above link and then send me a copy of your
receipt, I'll send you two extra bonuses. You
see, to ultimately succeed with Google AdSense
you need a web site that is receiving traffic.
These two packages will help you do just
that...
"7 Fast Ways To Get Great Links To Your
Site"
http://www.achievenetprofits.com/7fastways/
"10 Easy Steps To A Google Friendly Page"
http://www.achievenetprofits.com/10googlesteps/
Both products are a set of videos by Louis
Allport that will *show* you what you need to do
to improve the traffic to your web site. The
total RRP of the bonuses is $49.90, but they are
yours for nothing when you order Joel's
book.

This weeks interview snippet comes from Dr.
Mani Sivasubramanian. Dr.Mani is extremely
prolific online - which is impressive since he
is a full time surgeon at a children's
hospital!
One thing that Dr.Mani is well known for is
his strong support of using blogs as part of
your business. It's certainly a popular topic,
and most marketers seem to be adding them to
their business.
But with so many blogs already out there,
should you start one and if so how do you make
yours stand out? Dr.Mani had some great tips on
that very question.
I'll admit blogging is now in the spotlight.
Which is surprising, when you come to think
about it. The first blogs date back to 1997 -
that means blogs have been around for almost
8 years now!
So why the current excitement about
blogging, especially among marketers?
You guessed it. Spam and the filters that
deal with it.
Legitimate email marketers are facing
hurdles because of this problem. And
innovative minds are working on solutions.
Blogs seem attractive because they bypass the
problem. By creating a regularly updated
blog, and informing readers that the blog has
new content, you get the best of both worlds
- readership without delivery hassles.
Now, I'm not saying this is a perfect
solution. Indeed, I'm working on a special
status report to explain EXACTLY why blogs
are NOT ideal solutions. It'll be ready soon
- if you'd like to know of it when it's done,
write to mailto:blog-report@ezinemarketingcenter.com
Anyway, back to the question...
Will launching a blog today make you a
"johnny-come-lately"? Not at all. Because, as
you've seen, EVERYONE who has a blog that's
less than 4 years old is a latecomer to the
*technology*.
My first blog experiment was in 2001, with
my Ezine Blog. It didn't take off - maybe the
time wasn't right. So I dropped it. Two
months ago, I announced my "remarkably purple
spots..." at http://www.EzineMarketingCenter.com/blog/
It has become a VERY popular destination
for marketers who want to get an inkling
about blogs - what they are, what they can
become, what they can be used for.
The key? Differentiation. You can do this
by organizing your content differently, by
using a different design layout, or by
offering stand-out content. I'd suggest the
last option - it's easier and the effects are
longer-lasting.
Another way to differentiate your blog
will be to make it profitable by staying
profit-oriented - right from the very start.
That's what I've done. The blogosphere has
close to 5 million blogs - but barely a
handful are making money!

Well, that's it for me this week. Make sure
you check out Joel's book - the results I've had
because of his book have been nothing short of
amazing. It's gets my full recommendation.

(and if you send me your receipt, I'll send
you those two bonuses I mentioned above).
Till next time.
Cheers,
Jason
