Hello again, and welcome to this weeks
letter! I hope this weeks issue finds you well,
and your online business continuing to grow and
thrive.
I apologize for not writing over the last two
weeks - everything got hectic! I was busy
getting a new bonus ready for a (non-marketing)
ebook I sell, working on a new product that's
*almost* ready for release, setting up several
joint ventures, and adding a new product for
sale to the affiliate program.
I wish there were more hours in the day!
:-)
I wanted to briefly mention here the new
product I've added to the affiliate program.
It's a product I obtained the resell rights to,
titled "Underground Sales Letters".
"Underground Sales Letters" is an extremely
powerful package for learning how to write your
own sales letters... by learning from existing
(successful!) sales letters. As well as the main
book, you also get several great bonuses
(including an interview I did with professional
copywriter Dan Lok).

Affiliates can now promote this product, and
they earn $35 for any sales made. There's even a
solo ad you can use in the affiliate tools
section.
You can find out more about the affiliate
program by going to http://www.achievenetprofits.com/affiliate/

Maybe I'm the only one, but I seem to have
the habit of 'forgetting' about hobbies that I
really enjoy. I'll got for months, if not a year
or two not doing something, only to come back to
it and go "wow, I really enjoy this... why did I
ever stop?"
The latest 'wow' I'm having is with vegetable
gardening. I grew a vegetable garden at home a
few years ago, but I hadn't "gotten around to
it" these last few years. This year I've started
growing one again, and I'm really enjoying
it!
Logically thinking, it's silly the amount of
pleasure I get seeing the corn and pea seeds
that I've planted sprout, or spotting new leaves
growing on zuccinni and rhubarb plants.
Yet it does give me pleasure. I really enjoy
it.
This doesn't really have anything to do with
marketing (although you could make some
analogies), but instead life in general. Is
there something you used to enjoy doing that you
stopped doing - maybe for no good reason?
I know it's obvious, but doing things we
enjoy helps to reduce stress. And while not many
people talk about it, this business can
certainly generate a lot of stress!

This weeks snippet is from Carmen Maranon.
Carmen isn't one of the big names that you hear
all over the place - she's one of the quiet
achievers who sits back and gets things done.
She's been working online since 1996, so she's
seen a lot of changes over the time!
Not surprisingly, Carmen has managed to grow
quite a large list - over 120,000 in fact. As a
result, Carmen has a pretty good idea of what
works when generating a list, and what doesn't.
Here's what she had to say on the subject...
#1) Affiliate Program: I reward
website owners free ad exposure in exchange
for new subscribers they send my way. (Don't
confuse this with offering free ads to new
subscribers. These people aren't interested
in reading your publication, they just want
free exposure. You want to build quality,
responsive lists... not a huge list of throw
away addresses.)
#2) Popups and Subscription Boxes: I use
DHTML exit popups on my sites, as well as
place subscription boxes on all my pages, on
all my sites. When using popups, make sure it
only appears once a day... or if possible,
once a day until they subscribe. You don't
want to annoy your potential readers even
before they give you a chance!
#3) Free Courses: Visitors are
automatically subscribed to my ezine when
they register for my courses. Of course,
they're informed of this before they sign up
for my course to avoid spam complaints.
What hasn't worked (for me):
#1) Free Classifieds. The Internet isn't
how it used to be in the early '90s!
#2) Free-For-All Links: I don't think
these exist anymore, do they? I did this when
it was in "fashion", and all I got back was a
bunch of junk in my inbox.
#3) Newsgroups: Like classifieds and FFA
pages, people go there just to post, without
any intention to look at the posted ads. And
with all the "blaster" softwares out there,
you don't even have to actually go to the
site to post anymore, so, basically, it's a
page with a bunch of links and no real
visitors.

I'll be the first to admit that list building
is something I've rather neglected in my
business - to my cost! Carmen's ideas are great
ones, and you should make sure you act on them.
I know I'll be looking into her third tip very
closely.
Carmen's interview is part of the collection
of 82 interviews, 252 downloads (many with
reprint rights), 23 discounts and 975 minutes of
training videos that are part of the membership
site. Join now by visiting http://www.achievenetprofits.com
(And remember, you pay only a once-off fee
for a lifetime membership!)
Anyway, that's about it for me this week. I
hope you have a great week, and I'll see you
next week.
Cheers,
Jason
