Hello again, and welcome to this weeks
newsletter! I hope this weeks issue finds you
well, and your online business continuing to
grow and thrive.
Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy
birthday for Monday. I appreciated the
well-wishes (and e-cards!) that people sent
me.
My birthday was quite enjoyable. My presents
this year were very home maintenance orientated.
I got a fold up ladder, a line trimmer, and some
plants. Not that I'm complaining - they're all
things that I wanted!
But I suppose now people will expect me to
use them, and keep the place tidy ;-)

I learned a very important lesson this week -
always make sure that you're crystal clear when
you're passing on information. It's an obvious
lesson, but one that is very easy to miss!
:-)
In my case, it was the info for the birthday
special to join the membership site. I said that
the offer expired on October 5. Unfortunately, I
wasn't clear on whether it was *inclusive* of
October 5 (ie: until the end of the day), or if
the offer expired at the end of October 4.
I had planned for it to finish at the end of
October 4, but after receiving several confused
emails from subscribers I quickly changed my
mind! :-)
Don't make the same mistake I did - always be
crystal clear when passing on information
(especially deadlines).

One final announcement, before moving on to
this weeks interview snippet. I've set up a new
affiliate program for my membership site
(Achieve Net Profits) so that anyone can promote
the site (not just members, like the old one
was).
The affiliate program pays out $35 per
membership. Commissions are paid via PayPal.
At the moment the membership site is the only
"product" you can promote, but I plan on adding
a few more products to the program in the coming
weeks and months. All products will pay out at
least 50% commission.
You can find out more about the program (and
join) by going to http://www.achievenetprofits.com/affiliate/

This weeks snippet is from an interview I did
a couple of months ago. It's the longest
interview I've ever done - it ended up being 17
pages long. The interviewee even offers it as a
bonus for one of the products he sells :-)
The interview was with Dan Lok, a
professional copywriter who has written for some
of the big names online (and for many large
businesses in totally different areas).
He covered a tremendous amount of info in his
interview. The snippet I have for you today is
part of his response to my question on the best
way to structure a sales letter.
The best way is "whatever works!"
I know that's really not the answer you're
looking for
but it's the truth. There's
no "science" about the ONE best way to put
together a sales letter. If there were,
everyone would clone the perfect message.
Web marketing is an ART, and a message
that's been framed to appeal to one consumer
may not appeal to another. It's what you're
selling and how you want to sell it that will
determine the "paint, canvas, and brushes"
you'll use for the job.
Even though there are no hard-and-fast
rules, I can share a step-by-step "formula"
that anyone can use to write a killer sales
letter for almost any product.
- A grab 'em by the throat headline
- An opening that sucks them into your
copy
- Mouth-watering bullet-points that say
"what's in it for YOU"
- A list of testimonials to overcome
skepticism
- A fear-annihilating "no risk"
guarantee
- An offer they can't refuse
- Easy and specific instructions on how
to place an order
- A closing with a sense urgency
why they must order now
- A P.S. that re-states the offer

The formula Dan provides is fairly standard
(I'm sure you recognize it now that you've seen
it written out), but there's a reason that it's
standard. It works!
Sometimes we don't notice the template that
others are using until someone points it out to
us - hopefully now that you have seen it, you
will be able to improve your own sales
letters.
Dan's interview is part of the collection of
82 interviews, 252 downloads (many with reprint
rights), 23 discounts and 975 minutes of
training videos that are part of the membership
site. Join now by visiting http://www.achievenetprofits.com

Anyway, that's about it for me this week. I
hope you have a great week, and I'll see you
next week.
Cheers,
Jason
