This weeks snippet is from an interview that
I haven't totally finished yet - it's still in
progress. But I thought I'd pass the snippet on
anyway (actually, two snippets!)
I've been interviewing John Evans. You may
recognize the name - a few months ago he burst
onto the Internet marketing scene with his book
"Success Alert". It was a collection of 11
in-depth interviews with some very successful
online business owners.
The best thing was, they weren't the usual
Internet marketing crowd. These people all had
businesses in totally unrelated areas (I believe
one person even sold socks!)
I'm interviewing John about how he started
his online business (he actually started 5 years
ago), but I did have to ask him a few questions
about Success Alert. One question I asked was
how he managed to launch his book with such a
"bang". Not surprisingly, he used joint ventures
- but with a twist!
My major pattern of activity and
focus for "Success Alert" was arranging
affiliate joint ventures with big-time web
marketers. I knew they had ready access to
the people who would genuinely be interested
in the product.
My approach was slightly different in that
I decided to find one major player who felt
they could endorse the product and then have
him present the JV opportunity to the
big-time web marketers for me. This worked
incredibly well for me.
-- John Evans, http://www.successalert.com/
Can you see what he did here? Rather than
approach the big-name marketers as a "no one",
and have his email get lost in the sea of other
joint ventures, he asked a big name to recommend
him to other marketers. He leveraged the other
marketer to gain instant credibility!
John also had some great advice for people
when I asked him what he would go back and
change, if he could change anything about how he
has run his business.
Oh I think I would have started
selling on the web earlier. Simple as that
really. I've made some mistakes but I believe
that one of the keys to success on the web is
to test and test and test until you succeed.
With each failure, I am a lot closer to
success.
Most people I know who talk about web
businesses don't try anything. They seem to
be constantly paralyzed with new ideas which
is something that afflicted me several years
ago. You have to take action and deliver
something else all the reading and knowledge
in the world is meaningless. Lack of action
is true failure.
-- John Evans, http://www.successalert.com/
I can certainly relate to John's comments
about being paralyzed into inaction - it
happened a lot early on, and to be honest it
still gets me know every now and then!
John's interview (when it is finished) will
be joining the existing collection of 82
interviews, 247 downloads (many with reprint
rights), 23 discounts and 975 minutes of
training videos that are part of the membership
site.
And remember - until October 4 you can join
for the once-off fee of just $47 - a saving of
$20! Find out how by visiting http://www.achievenetprofits.com,

Anyway, that's about it for me this week. I
hope you have a great week, and I'll see you
next week.
Cheers,
Jason
