I hope this weeks issue finds you well. I
apologize for missing the last two weeks with
this newsletter. "Real life" proved to be rather
busy (topping everything off with my
brother-in-law having to go into hospital for
pneumonia).
But things have settled down, and my
brother-in-law is now out of hospital. So here I
am :-)

One thing I did promise to do several weeks
ago was to post some pictures of the new car
Marina and I recently bought. The first set I
took were lost, when my digital camera decided
to eat them!?
But I've convinced it to actually work this
time, and I have a couple for you to see.

(As this is the first new car Marina and I
have ever owned, we're rather excited about
it).

I haven't really paid a great deal of
attention to the happenings in the Internet
marketing world the last few weeks, but I have
certainly noticed the "storm" surrounding John
Reese's new product.
Don't worry - I'm not an affiliate for it,
and I'm not trying to sell anything to you.
I'm not amazed about the way everyone has
jumped into marketing it. It's happened many
times before (Cash Evolution, Guerrilla
Bombshells, and more recently Nicheology are
good examples of similar promotions). And I have
no doubt it will happen again in the future.
What has interested me though is the backlash
that seems to be occurring to the high level of
marketing.
I wonder if it is an indication that
everyone, especially in the Internet marketing
world, is getting more and more jaded by big
releases with lots of fanfare?
I mean, there is no doubt that some people
have been throwing out a lot of hype about the
package. Some of it may be true, and some of it
may not - I don't know.
(Personally I have a lot of respect for John,
so I'd be willing to bet that the product is
what he claims it is).
But a lot of people seem to be getting upset
by the huge push that the product is getting at
the moment.
I am sure that the huge promotion will be
successful, and that John will sell hundreds of
copies. But I do wonder if the days of the "big
push" are numbered? If we will reach a point
where more people will be turned off by the big
push than be interested purchasers?
It's would be a terrible dilemma to face. On
the one hand, you have to get your product in
front of as many people as possible, and make it
sound as good as possible (so those people will
take a closer look, and think about buying it).
It's a fact - hype sells (at the moment).
On the other hand, people don't like to have
something forced down their throat, and get sick
of seeing and hearing about the same thing every
where they go.
I'm not offering any solutions here - I'm
just musing out loud. And to be honest, the
number of people upset by a big push will
probably always be less than the number of
people interested in buying.
But it does make you pause for a moment,
doesn't it? If the "big push" stopped working,
what would the alternative be? Less hype, and
try to convince your partners to stagger their
announcements?
There may be some sense to that, but what
partners would be willing to wait while others
are advertising the new product? The first to
advertise something is often the person to get
the most sales - especially if they have a large
list.
Anyway, it's food for thought. Either that or
insane ramblings! :-)

Before I get into this weeks interview
snippet, I have to tell you about a new free
book by Patric Chan.
Patric has collected together a collection of
11 of the best articles on various topics

This weeks interview snippet comes from
Michael Lee. Michael hasn't written Yet Another
Internet Marketing book. Instead, Michael
concentrated on a subject that he is passionate
about - persuasion! His book is titled "How To
Be A Red Hot Persuasion Wizard... In 20 Days Or
Less"
(NOTE: Members of the Achieve Net Profits
membership site can buy his book at half
price).
Publishing an info-product on a non-marketing
subject can sometimes be a challenge, but
Michael has done rather well with it.
One problem that many people face (myself
included I have to admit) when creating a
product of their own is one of motivation. They
get part way, and then seem to stall. Michael
talked about this a bit in his interview -
here's what he had to say.
Being in a desperate situation
really gave me that big "push" in defying the
odds and in taking some serious action to
meet my current needs. I guess I wouldn't
have finished my tasks that quickly if I
wasn't in a tight predicament. But I know it
would still be accomplished because I have
set my mind to it and have vowed never to
stop until I have reached my dreams.
If you are not in such a situation, one
way to motivate yourself is to visualize.
Imagine that you are in a dangerous mission,
and the fate of the whole world lies in your
hands. The only way to save the world is to
succeed in your objectives. Spice up your
goals and make it more exciting.
Visualize on how nice it would be after
you've succeeded. Imagine the enormous house
you're living in, the luxury cars that you're
driving, the exciting travels around the
globe you'll be experiencing, and other such
wonderful experiences. Feel them, take them
into your soul, and act as if you are already
part of these great instances.

in somewhere :-) )
Anyway, that's about it for me this week.
