Welcome to another issue of the Achieve Net
Profits Letter. I hope this weeks issue finds
you well. If you've joined us through the "Great
Creative Fountain.Net eBiz Contest" then a very
big welcome to you!
(and everyone else of course :-) )
Speaking of the contest, the lucky winner in
the end was Dixie Elise Hickman. Dixie, if you
didn't get my email about your prize, please
email me and I'll sort it out straight away.
Marina (my wife) and I got a bit of a
bombshell last week, and it's certainly been on
my mind since we found out. She went to the
optometrists last week to get her eyes checked,
as she had been having some problems while using
her computer. We figured she just needed to get
glasses, and everything would be ok.
Imagine our surprise when the optometrist
announced that she had cataracts! (she's only
27)
The good thing is that its a relatively
simple procedure these days to correct (although
Marina doesn't like the idea of someone poking
things in her eye - and to be honest I don't
blame her!) And we have health insurance, so it
shouldn't cost us *too* much.
But it certainly came as a shock to us!
If you ever start to have even the slightest
problems seeing - don't put it off. Go to the
optometrist ASAP! The news might not be the
best, but if they can fix it early on it can
only be good.
Anyway, before we look at this weeks
interview snippet, I want to mention a "beta
test" that will be happening next week that
could interest you.
You might have heard the name June Yeap a lot
in the last week or so. That's because June runs
a membership site where people who join are able
to take advantage of discounts she's negotiated
with other people. It's gotten rave reviews from
many people.
As a new addition to her site, June has put
together a rather interesting piece of software
(PC only). What her new software does is tell
you instantly when she's organized a new
discount for you.
So you don't have to rely on getting an email
(which could be filtered out), or check a
particular web page regularly (which can be a
chore)!
June's looking for people willing to try out
the software for a week (for free), and let her
know what they think of it.
If it sounds interesting to you, you can find
out all about it at:

With my mind on other things this last week,
I haven't done the chasing up that I should for
the (five) interviews I currently have underway.
So none of them are ready yet (sigh!)
As I don't have a new snippet to share with
you this week, I've hunted up a real gem from an
interview I did late last year with Rick
Adams.
Rick is the author of "Costly Online
Blunders", a rather unique book where he
convinced 19 Internet marketing experts to share
their biggest mistake with the world (so we all
know what not to do! :-) )
As this was Rick's first book, he had the
unique perspective of having done everything,
but still remembering what it's like to not know
where to start. This is his advice for *anyone*
who is thinking about creating their own
book:
Find someone that can be your mentor
throughout the process. This will take some
work and may cost you some dollars. People
just don't want to give away their time for
free. So you may have to buy their products,
pay them for some consulting time, etc. It
can be done.
Remember that every top Internet marketer
gets hundreds of emails a day from a lot of
people wanting advice, free consulting, etc.
They just don't have the time or desire to
give away free time or advice. You have to
earn it and the best way is to buy one of
their products. Then send an email and ask a
question. Start a dialogue. Subscribe to
their newsletter and send in a few comments.
This will take some time but you will
establish a relationship with them. You may
want to consider attending an Internet
seminar where they are speaking. Meet them in
person. I did that and it really does
help.
You have to spend some money to make some
money. No way around that.
You need to pick an idea that is new or
different from others. When I interviewed Jim
Edwards, he asked me what my USP (Unique
Selling Proposition) was. I stumbled and gave
him a lousy answer. I hadn't spent the time
defining how my ebook was going to be unique,
to make people buy it.
How was I going to position it to save
money for people, make money for people, save
their time, do more in less time, etc. Those
are the top benefits to make people buy a
product.
I bought 2 ebooks from Jim Edwards that
really helped me.

Another great product I've just started
using myself is Yanik Silver's Public Domain
Riches http://www.onlineblunderbuzz.com/publicdomain.html
This is a great resource to help you find
works that are in the public domain (out of
copyright) that you can use to create your
own product. I'm working on a couple of golf
ebooks using this method.
Creating any product takes work, patience,
and persistence. Expect to stub your toe
along the way but treat it as a learning
experience. Pick a good topic, develop a good
marketing plan, work hard, and be persistent.
You'll have success.

Before I go, I want to share a fantastic (and
free) resource with you. About a year ago now,
Alex Mandossian and Jonathan Mizel held two
teleseminars for their clients, where they
answered over 50 questions that had been sent in
to them.
They didn't just "gloss over" the answers,
and they weren't trying to sell their listeners
anything. Alex and Jonathan gave in depth
answers that really explained what you needed to
know.
The great thing is that while you can buy it,
they also offer a free RealAudio version. So you
can listen to it all and not pay a cent!
I've been re-listening to it this week, and
I'd forgotten how much great info they pass on.
It's well worth a listen (or re-listen, if you
heard it when it first came out).
You can find it at http://www.marketingbraindump.com/
Till next week, I wish you all the best with
your online business.
Cheers,
Jason
