1. From the Editor
First of all, I want to say thank you to
everyone who has taken part so far in the survey
I sent out on Friday. I have read everyone's
comments (positive and negative), and I really
appreciate you taking the time to respond.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, I
am running a short survey and would love your
input. It is completely anonymous, and you will
get three great products as a "thank you" for
taking part. To find out more please visit:
http://www.achievenetprofits.com/survey/
I also wanted to mention again the free
report I released last week. It is all about
gaining (and keeping) new subscribers to your
list from running a contest. It is a case study
of the contest I ran back in September, which
overall was quite successful. You can also
branded the report with your name and affiliate
links. You can download it from:
http://www.achievenetprofits.com/free/contestreport.zip
Finally, a fellow subscriber is running a
survey of his own. He is also offering several
free products to everyone who takes part. Please
help him out by visiting:

I won't ramble on any longer (this time of
year is always hectic!), so instead lets go
straight to what's in todays newsletter.
My interview this week is with Larry
Sullivan. Larry runs a successful business
helping people build the link popularity of
their web site. I spoke with Larry about the
importance of getting other sites to link to
yours, and how anyone (whether a new site or an
established site) can go about exchanging links
with other sites.
Why is this important? Firstly, search
engines like sites that have good quality links
to them. And secondly, every extra link to your
site is another way for someone to find you! I'm
sure this is one interview you won't want to
miss.
This weeks resource is a rather unique report
I downloaded just today. As the name suggests,
the report talks about the concept of Santa, and
how you can use the same ideas in your own
marketing. More on this below.
I hope you enjoy this weeks issue. Don't
forget that you can view all the past issues

3. Survey Results
The interview with Rick Smith last week
(where he talked about the first ebook he
created and released) proved quite popular. The
final results saw his interview receive a score
of 4.47 out of 5, with 17 votes.
I feel the interview was an important one for
a single reason - it was a story about someone
who not only got an idea, but also *took action*
on that idea.
Don't get me wrong. I've had countless ideas,
and done nothing with them. And I've had a few
ideas that I've started work on, only to abandon
the project after a few weeks.
I think Rick's interview can be an
inspiration to people who feel they don't have
the confidence they need to see things
through.
Thank you everyone who took the time to rate
the interview. Please keep those votes
coming!
4. Resources - Why Santa's
Marketing Works Better Than Yours!
I wasn't too sure what to expect when I first
downloaded this report. The title was rather
intriguing, but I wasn't quite sure what I was
letting myself in for.
It turns out I was letting myself in for a
fun report that has a serious message in it!
As we all know, pretty much every child in
Western culture knows about Santa. Be good, and
you'll get a present at Christmas. Be bad, and
you'll get a lump of coal.
How would you love to have every adult know
about your business?
(err, you might want to miss the coal idea
though ;-) )
It may seem silly at first, but this report
shows how you can take ideas from the Santa
story, and use them in your own business. It's
really something you have to read for yourself.
It's a fun read, but very well worth it!
Oh, and remember to be good this year - if
you don't, you just might find a lump of coal in
your stocking on Christmas morning! ;-)
This report is in PDF, so can be read by most
people. A link to the report has been added to
the "members only" section, along with the
existing collection of ebooks, ecourses, and
other useful sites.

5. Final Word
Christmas is well and truly on its way.
Marina and I put up the Christmas decorations at
home on the weekend.
By far the most time consuming part of
decorating is the tree. We have an artificial
tree (I suffer from hay fever, so a real tree is
out), and it's around 7 and a half feet
tall!
Some people may be saying "so what?". But for
someone who grew up with a 4 foot tree at home,
and since the first tree Marina and I had was 5
foot tall, that's huge! ;-)
We actually got it last Christmas. Marina and
I had always wanted a huge tree, but we hadn't
been able to get one (those things aren't
cheap!) So last year I finally decided enough
was enough, and I made sure I put aside some
money from my tax refund to buy the tree when
they were available in stores in November.
Sure, it takes ages to put up. And its
probably a bit too big for the room. And we have
to move a lot of things around before we can put
it up (to make room for it). And storing it for
the rest of the year is a hassle.
But it was a dream that we had. And its a
dream we reached. Which I feel is the most
important thing!
(Our youngest cat also loves it too - she's
light enough that she can actually climb it like
a real tree! ;-) )
Take care this week, and I hope your online
business continues to grow and prosper.
"As I grow older, I pay less attention to
what men say. I just watch what they do." --
