1. From the Editor
I know I mentioned this last week, but I'd
like to take a moment to mention again the
teleseminar that's happening early in December.
The topic is all about building a relationship
with your list, and with the speakers lined up
it promises to be a great event. Held over 6
nights, there will be a huge amount of
information passed on.
The bad news is the live teleclass option is
no longer available. The good news is you can
still receive the recordings of the calls. I've
paid my money, and I'm really looking forward to
it. I strongly urge you to check it out.

It's been a long time since I've done this,
but I've got a minor rant I need to get out of
my system.
As some of you may know, I'm a moderator on a
couple of web forums (Phil Wiley's
Affiliate-Talk, and Louis Allport's Info-Talk
Profits). Most of the people you find on such
places are nice helpful people, and they make it
an enjoyable place to visit.
Then you get the bitter ones. The ones that
say its all a scam, that no one is making money
online, and that expert X is (insert suitable
obscenity) because they bought their book but
they still don't have their first million.
There is also a growing 'hobby' that seems to
be popular with such people - guru bashing. Pick
a successful person, and rip into them. Denounce
their work as rubbish, say they mistreat their
customers - whatever their deluded minds can
come up with.
To be blunt, its obvious why those people
aren't getting anywhere online - their own
attitude and outlook on life. In almost every
case, they seem think that the universe owes
them big just for turning up.
Sorry, that's not how things go.
It's commonly said that anyone can succeed
online. Personally, I don't think that's the
case.
For one thing, you need to be willing to
work. Not just spending lots of money to join
the latest hyped up program - that's not
working. Creating your own products, and/or
creating your own sites, and/or building your
lists. That's working.
Are you guaranteed to succeed if you work?
Heck no. You might be doing the *wrong* work. Or
you might be doing the right work, but in the
wrong way.
But if nothing goes right for you, the last
thing you want to do is get bitter. That's a
guarantee that you will *never* succeed -
online, or anywhere else for that matter.
I've been listening to a program lately (I
won't mention it, since I'm not here to plug it)
that talks about getting what you want. The
author outlines five steps to success. Four of
those steps basically deal with your attitude in
life. And they're the first four steps of the
program. Getting down to the work you need to do
is the last step!
Things sometimes don't work out the way we
expect them too. They certainly don't for me,
that's for sure! But as soon as you get bitter,
or start playing the blame game, it's game
over.
Keep your goal in mind, keep working at it,
and you may just get there in the end.
Well, enough from me. I'd better tell you
about what's in this weeks newsletter.
My interview this week is with Grady Smith.
Grady is a professional copywriter, helping both
large and small businesses increase their sales
by reworking their sales material.
As you can imagine, copywriting was the topic
I spoke to Grady about, and he passed on some
superb information that I'm sure you will find
useful. You don't want to miss this
interview.
This weeks resource is by Jim Edwards. It's a
report that's aimed more at new people to the
Internet than experienced people, but it talks
about the spam problem (outlining some ways to
reduce it), and some of the common scams you may
run into online. He even passes on what to do if
you are the victim of credit card fraud. More on
this below.
I hope you enjoy this weeks issue. Don't
forget that you can view all the past issues

3. Survey Results
The interview with Kennon Fort last week (how
to host your own teleconference) received a
total of 11 votes, and had a final score of 4.09
out of 5.
Thank you everyone who took the time to rate
the interview. Please keep those votes
coming!
4. Resources - The Spam and
Scam Report
People who have been online for a long time
(more than a year) have probably seem most of
the scams out there, and have some way of
dealing with all that spam that seems to
accumulate in your mail box.
But if you have only recently joined the
Internet, this report is one you'll want to
read.
Written by Jim Edwards (I have to say one of
my favorite authors), it talks about several of
the more common scams that are around on the
Internet, explaining what they are and how they
will rip you off.
Jim also passes on some simple ways of
combating spam. There isn't anything new or
unusual here (and I did feel it was a little
light in content), but it is still handy
information.
Finally, Jim talks about the steps you should
follow if you think you have been the victim of
credit card fraud (something I hope you never
have to deal with).
People relatively new to the Internet should
read this report. Experienced Internet goers
will probably know most of the information in
this report, but it wouldn't hurt to have a
quick scan through just to make sure.
This ebook is in PDF, so can be read by most
people. A link to the ebook has been added to
the "members only" section, along with the
existing collection of ebooks, ecourses, and
other useful sites.

5. Final Word
Spring is slowly giving way to summer here in
Australia, with the temperature (for the most
part) increasing. We've had a few 'hot' days
(and nights) here already, so I'm fearing to
think what the summer will be like.
Then again, Marina and I much prefer the
cooler weather, so I guess we're just wimps when
it comes to summer ;-)
Mind you, I don't think we're alone in liking
the cooler whether. All of our cats, and even
our canaries, have shown obvious signs of
disliking the heat. Its amazing how our cats go
'splat' when the temperatures rise! They tend to
find a cool spot (inside being preferred), then
stretch out very low to the ground.
And they can end up in the strangest poses at
times! ;-)
By the way, don't forget to check out the
list relationship building teleclass that will
be starting next week. I'm expecting it to be a
don't-miss event.

Take care this week, and I hope your online
business continues to grow and prosper.

that if you just show up and try to do the right
thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch
and work: you don't give up." -- Anne Lamott
