1. From the Editor
Phew, what a week it's been. As you no doubt
saw, I wasn't able to get last weeks newsletter
out because I had to take my laptop in to be
repaired on Monday (the screen wasn't
working).
The good news is the computer shop called me
on Tuesday, said that it was just a cable
problem (so it would only cost $13 + labor), and
they had ordered a replacement part for it.
The bad news is... I still haven't got my
laptop back. Needless to say, this makes running
an online business rather difficult ;-)
I do have other computers I can access (hence
writing this weeks issue), but they are much
less convenient. And I have to use web mail,
instead of reading my mail in Eudora, which
makes replying to people difficult.
(my apologies if I haven't replied to an
email you sent me - I'll get to you soon, I
promise!)
Still, with any luck I'll get my computer
back in the next day or so. At least, I hope so!
;-)
Anyway, I'd like to change topic now, and try
a bit of an experiment. This goes back to the
email I sent out on Friday about Internet
Marketing Prophecies. I'd like to let you try
it for free.
http://www.achievenetprofits.com/improphecies/
What!?
You see, I heard a couple of horror stories
from people who had ordered the product through
others, haven't liked it, but were ignored when
they requested a refund.
(I want to assure people that I'm the one
selling it. I bought the resell rights to the
product, and if you don't like it I will be more
than happy to issue a refund.)
Because of this, I gather there is some bad
press about the product. And as a result, you
may be hesitant about buying it. After all, you
don't know what its like. You may have mixed
feelings about one or more of the people
interviewed (like I did). You may not be sure if
it will be worth it.
So what I'm willing to do is let you 'try
before you buy'. That's right - you can download
it and listen to it for free, before paying me a
cent.
If you don't like it, tell me why you didn't
like it, delete it from your computer, and we're
square. You saved money, I saved time and money
(by not having to issue a refund), and we're
both happy.
What's more, if you DO like it, you tell me
how much you're willing to pay for it. If you
only thought it was worth $2, pay $2. If you
thought it was worth what I'm selling it for
($37.97), then pay that.
But to be fair, you'll only get the bonuses I
offer if you pay $20 or more.
Am I crazy? Maybe. I expect there will be at
least one person who will download it without
any intention of paying. That's life, and I'm a
great believer that such people will get what
they deserve one day (if not in this life, then
the next).
Are you interested? If so, email me
personally (my address is in this newsletter),
let me know you're interested, and I'll send you
the download link straight away.
Please note - I'm in Australia, and I'm
sending this info out manually via web mail
(yuck), so there will probably be a slight delay
in getting back to you.
One final thing - this offer is only valid
until the next newsletter comes out (ie:
Tuesday, the 4th of November). After that -
sorry.
Anyway, while you ponder my sanity about
running this experiment, allow me to tell you
more about this weeks newsletter!
My interview this week is with Louis Allport.
Louis recently set up a web forum, called
Info-Profits Talk. As you can probably gather
from the name, it's main focus is on info
products, but any posts to deal with Internet
marketing are 'on topic'. You can visit the
forum at:
http://www.achievenetprofits.com/infoprofitstalk
I talked with Louis about why he decided to
start the forum, what research he did, how he
went about setting it up, etc. After all, a
forum is a great way to get repeat visitors to
your site!
This weeks resource is a superb report by
Rebecca Hagel titled "How to Profit Wildly Using
the Choose Your Own Price Model". It was the
report that gave me the idea to try this weeks
experiment, and its a fascinating read. More on
it below.
I hope you enjoy this weeks issue. Don't
forget that you can view all the past issues

3. Your Feedback
With my computer in for repairs, I haven't
had a chance to set up a new mini-survey this
week. I hope to have a new one up next week.
The interview with Mike McGroarty in the last
issue gathered a lot of votes - I expect partly
because voting was open for two weeks instead of
the usual one. The final rating was 4.34 out of
5, with 29 votes (a new record in the number of
votes I believe).
Thank you to everyone who voted, and please
keep those votes coming!
4. Resources - How to Profit
Wildly Using the Choose Your Own Price
Model
At first glance you may think Rebecca Hagel
has gone mad. Let the customer choose their own
price for your product!? That's insane!
But Rebecca not only talks about why it isn't
such an insane idea, and how to do it so you
don't attract thieves and freebie seekers, she
talks about experiences of people who have
actually tried this model (successfully).
Rebecca even points you towards a script that
will let you run an affiliate program using the
'choose your own price' pricing model.
Will this pricing method take over the
Internet? Probably not - it isn't really
something that's appropriate for all products.
And I can't seem many big companies being
interested in it either.
But it is an alternative to keep in mind, and
perhaps something you could try. Who knows, you
might find your earnings increase after trying
it!
This ebook is in PDF, so can be read by most
people. A link to the ebook has been added to
the "members only" section, along with the
existing collection of ebooks, ecourses, and
other useful sites.

5. Final Word
I discovered during this last week that I'm
definitely not a born copywriter. I've been
trying to come up with a sales letter for a new
product a friend and I will be launching soon
(no idea on an exact date).
And boy, has it been difficult writing
something that doesn't sound silly, doesn't bore
the reader, isn't hypey or pushy, yet still
tries to entice people to try the product.
I think I can understand why the good
copywriters get paid so much. They now have my
upmost respect! (and I'm sure they're just
thrilled about that! ;-) ) Still, I'll get there
in the end.
BTW, don't forget my "try before you buy,
then name your own price" offer for Internet
Marketing Prophecies. See the editorial if you
skipped over it and don't know what I'm talking
about ;-)
Till next week, take care, and best of luck
in your online endeavors.

first step that is difficult." -- Mme. Du
