1. From the Editor
You know, I've been pondering on whether I
want to comment on the Joe Kumar vs Carlos
Garcia incident that occurred over the weekend.
I did even start to write something about
it.
But, part way through, I've changed my mind.
Its a messy situation - one that I would not
like to find myself in (on either side). And to
be honest, I don't think it would serve any
purpose for me to talk about it. Several others
have already, and they put everything much
better than I could. So I'll pass.
(If you haven't heard about the incident yet,
just visit Tony Blake's forum at http://www.ablake.com/forum
)
And its probably a good thing I'm not writing
about it anyway. The interview this week is
quite long, and I know many people don't like
receiving long newsletters. So I'll go straight
into talking about this weeks newsletter.
As I mentioned last week, my interview this
week is with "Google Cash" author Chris
Carpenter. Lots of people were raving about
Google Cash when it was released several months
ago - and for good reason. I've been reading the
book (I only got it last week, so I haven't had
a chance to finish it yet), and so far I've
found it to be a superb resource.
http://www.achievenetprofits.com/googlecash/
Chris's book focuses on using Google AdWords
to promote affiliate programs (although there's
no reason why you can't promote your own site as
well). So naturally I interviewed Chris on
Google AdWords - do's and don'ts, researching
and creating your ads, and why AdWords is a
great tool. I think you'll find his interview a
must-read.
(And I want to thank Chris for taking the
time to do this interview. He was in a bad
surfing accident during the week where he almost
broke his neck, so needless to say he wasn't
feeling the best for a few days!)
This weeks resource is an interview Peter
Twist did with JVAlert founder Ken McArthur.
Peter's interview with Ken talks about making a
Joint Venture proposal to a 'big name' - in
particular, how you can make your proposal stand
out from the rest. A quick read, but very worth
while.
I hope you enjoy this weeks issue. Don't

3. Your Feedback
Last week open question on the types of
topics you would like to see in the newsletter
didn't get many responses - only a few people
took the time to send me their thoughts. But I
have to say that everyone's comments were
extremely well thought out, and I appreciate
them all.
The interesting thing was that no two
suggestions were alike. I had requests for
interviews on creating an autoresponder series,
building a successful non Internet marketing
site & newsletter, and more help for newbies
who are just starting out, and feeling
overwhelmed by it all.
Needless to say, this has given me some food
to think about. I will see what I can do in the
coming months.
Last weeks interview was a compilation of
hints and tips from previous interviews. I was
rather curious to see what people thought about
this, since there wasn't a unifying theme to it
all. It scored reasonably well (14 votes, 4.0
out of 5). Not the highest score, but not the
lowest either! Thank you to everyone who
voted.
Please keep those responses coming. They help
me get a better idea of what you do and don't
want from this newsletter.
(Of course, feel free to email your thoughts
to me if you prefer - I always like to hear from
people.)
4. Resources - JVAlert
interview (Peter Twist & Ken McArthur)
I'm sure you've seen a few announcements
about the service that this report talks about.
And I'll freely admit the report is branded with
my links. But that isn't the only reason I'm
adding this report to the members area.
As you have probably heard, Joint Ventures
(JVs) are one of the best ways to promote your
business or products. But joint ventures can be
difficult to set up - especially if you are
trying to do it with a 'big name' marketer who
gets tens, if not hundreds of proposals a
week.
This report provides several tips on how you
can make your JV proposal stand out. The content
is short, so its a quick read, but there is a
link to an ecourse in the report that will give
you more information.
This ebook is in PDF, so can be read by most
people. A link to the ebook has been added to
the "members only" section, along with the
existing collection of ebooks, ecourses, and
other useful sites.

5. Final Word
At the end of last week I had the fun that's
always involved with reformatting my computers
hard drive, and then reinstalling
everything.
On the plus side, it wasn't because of a
hardware failure or virus infection. I was just
upgrading to a new version of the operating
system, and figured it was a good time to "clear
the cobwebs" out from the computer. And the
result seems to have been worth it - everything
is running a lot faster now.
But the downside was it taking a day and a
bit to back everything up, install everything,
then copy all my data back. Times like these I
wish I had a second hard drive ;-)
Still, it could have been worse - I might
have had to do it because a virus had infected
my system for example. That would NOT be
fun!
(So always make sure you have up-to-date
anti-virus software installed on your computer.
Even if you don't care if your computer gets
infected, you have a responsibility to not
spread viruses on to others).
Till next week, I wish you much success in
your online business.
