Welcome to this weeks issue of Achieve Net
Profits. If you're reading this online, you've
probably already noticed the changes to the web
site. If not, the Achieve Net Profits web site
got a bit of a face-lift during the week.
(I guess you could say in celebration for the
up-coming one year anniversary of the
newsletter!)
I'm rather pleased with how the makeover for
the site went. And the good thing about it was
that it didn't take forever to come up with the
design, etc - I used an existing template.
Templates are great if you're not a
professional web designer (and don't want to pay
someone who is!) Here's a list I collected a
while ago of sites that offer templates (some
free, and some you have to buy):

Templates)
The remake of the web site also allowed me to
change all the links to the mailing list
software. I've now moved my list from Ultimate
Merchant, and am hosting it on my own site using
ListMail Pro.
I've got to say so far I'm very impressed
with ListMail Pro - its been very easy to set
up, and it has a lot of features (more than
Ultimate Merchant had). Of course, the real test
will be when it mails this newsletter out
;-)
Fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong!
But enough about the web site - its time to
take a look at what else is in the newsletter
this week.
My interview this week is with Gary Baker.
Gary was a factory worker, struggling to make
ends meet. Luckily for him, he came across a
book that offered him a way out. Unlike 99.9% of
people, he DID what the book said. As a result,
he was able to quit his job in just 3
months!
You can find out more about Gary (and the
book that turned his life around) below. In
particular, take a look at how he uses offline
promotion for his online business.
I have a new mini-survey this week, asking
for your thoughts on the members-only resource
section of the web site. Please take a moment
(literally less than 30 seconds) to share your
thoughts with me - I want to hear them.
The new resource this week is titled "Rules?
What Rules?" Written by John Glube, this book
talks about the FTC requirements (you know,
truth in advertising, etc) and how they relate
to you. Think you aren't affected? You may
change your mind after reading this book! More

As I mentioned above, I have a new

think of the material, and what sort of material
you would prefer it to contain.

There were only 7 votes for last weeks
interview with Duncan Carver on testing (I guess
the interview was too long for a lot of people).
But it was obvious that those who read the
interview liked it - it scored a massive 4.71
out of 5!
Please, keep those responses coming. They
help me get a better idea of what you do and
don't want from this newsletter.
(Of course, feel free to email your thoughts
to me if you prefer - I always like to hear from
my readers.)
4. Resources - Rules? What
Rules?
I'll state it simply. You NEED to read this
book.
The commotion has died down a bit now, but
the FTC made big waves in the Internet marketing
world when they started to crack down on people
a few months ago, with several big name
marketers getting into trouble.
But it isn't going to end there. The FTC has
said they will be devoting a lot more attention
to online business now and in the future, so it
pays to make sure you are abiding by their
rules.
Think you're safe from it all because you
don't have your own product? You may not be.
Affiliates and newsletter publishers also have
risks they need to be away of.
This short book - "Rules? What Rules?" covers
many of the things you need to be aware of. For
example, did you know there are rules on how you
can offer bonuses when someone buys from you? I
didn't!
The great thing is this book also has links
to the relevant pages on the FTC web site, so
you can read the source material for
yourself.
I said it above, and I'll say it again. You
NEED to read this book. Download it now, and
read it straight away.
Seriously, I mean it.
This ebook is in PDF, so can be read by most
people. A link to the ebook has been added to

other useful sites.

5. Final Word
Can you believe that next week will mark one
year of publishing Achieve Net Profits? I can't!
It hasn't seemed like its been that long at all.
And best of all, I've enjoyed every moment of
it.
To mark the occasion, I've organized
something rather special (don't worry - it
doesn't involve spending any money! ;-) ) I
can't tell you any more now - you'll have to
wait until next Monday to find out. But I think
the wait will be worth it.
