1. From the Editor
Welcome to another issue of Achieve Net
Profits. I hope everything is well with you and
your online business.
***
Recently I was struck by how there are
constant opposing forces and desires when you
are publishing a newsletter as part of your
online business.
What do I mean? Primarily the conflict
between publishing something that contains good
quality information that will help people, and
wanting to get a return for your work.
In an ideal world, we wouldn't need money -
we could all have whatever items we wanted. Want
a new sports car? No problem - pick it up that
afternoon and take it for a drive. Want to
upsize your house? Sure, just find the one you
want and move right on in.
Obviously this will never work in the real
world (not without some major social
re-engineering anyway!) So we are left with the
"need" for money.
Some people are in a position where they
already have everything they want. They're
financially independent, and can afford to do
what they like (whether it earns them any money
or not). Obviously, these people are in the
minority.
That leaves the rest of us. Most of us start
an online business to eventually (we hope) reach
the stage of financial independence. But between
the start and the end, there is the problem of
earning the money.
Which brings me back to newsletters.
Obviously, most of the experts say that the
money is in the list. Why? Because you can
recommend products, etc to people, and assuming
the product you are recommending is a close
match to the people's interests, some will
buy.
(You'd better be recommending a good quality
product though, or they will never buy anything
you recommend again!)
Some people take this too far. Their
newsletters are full of ads, they send out
several 'recommendations' and solo ads each
week, and in the end it all gets overwhelming
for the readers.
Others almost never recommend anything,
perhaps relying on people to visit their site
where they sell something, or to hire them for
consulting services, etc.
I think its a fairly safe thing to say that
none of us likes to receive ads. And we all like
to receive good quality information (that's why
we subscribed after all).
Hence the conflict between the reader wanting
the information, and the publisher wanting to
earn some money.
Obviously this conflict doesn't have a
solution - its comes down to a balancing act
between several different factors. Sometimes
publishers get it right, sometimes they get it
wrong (going too far either way).
I don't know that I really have a point to
this rambling. I guess its more a case of
explaining why publishers sometimes do what we
do. Your comments or thoughts (from either side
of the situation!) are welcome.

On the subject of running a newsletter, it
always pays to get an idea of what readers
prefer. So to try and answer that question for
myself with ANP, I've decided to run a series of
mini-surveys.
These mini-surveys should only take 30
seconds of your time (its all done via a web
script), but will help me improve this
newsletter to meet your needs.
The mini survey this week is on the type of
interview you prefer. General interviews about
running an online business, a specific interview
(for example, about joint ventures or affiliate
marketing), or success stories (like Regena's
interview last week).
Please take a minute to let me know your
thoughts.

Speaking of last weeks interview with Regena,
I received a lot of positive feedback about it
during the week and I thank you for it. Taking a
look at the voting tally, there were 18 votes
with a final score of 4.17 out of 5 (not too
shabby at all!)
Please keep those votes coming in!

Now lets have a look at what this weeks
newsletter has in store for you.
My interview this week is with Chuck
McCullough. Chuck makes a very successful living
online promoting affiliate programs. In
addition, he has written a book about the common
mistakes affiliate marketers make (not
surprisingly, his book is titled "Affiliate
Mistakes" ;-) )
Chuck's interview is very informative for
anyone interested in affiliate marketing, and
I'm sure you'll learn something from reading it
that will increase your affiliate income.
You may have already seen the new resource
this week (SIMA, or Scientific Internet
Marketing Assistant), since a lot of people have
mentioned it in the past week. And for good
reason - it's a superb piece of software!
The saying goes that there are two types of
marketer - those that test, and those that lose
money. If you don't want to lose money, you may
want to take a look at this new resource.
I hope you enjoy this weeks issue. Don't
forget that you can view all the past issues

Want To Be A Super

You need this simple blueprint
written by a woman who made over
$435,000 last year just from affiliate
sales. A superb guide to profiting from
affiliate programs - easily the best I
have ever read.

3. Resources - SIMA (Scientific Internet
Marketing Assistant)
Testing is one of the most important things
you can do when running your online business. If
you have your own sales page (whether for your
own product, or promoting an affiliate product)
you can trying different headlines, different
lists of benefits, different guarantees - the
list is endless.
But HOW do you do all that, without spending
a large some of money on special software, or
spending ages tracking everything manually?
Thankfully, SIMA is the solution. It allows
you to test several different web pages to see
which is the best performing page. It is VERY
easy to set up, and extremely straight forward
to use.
The author says you'd have to pay $97 if you
had to go out and buy a similar program, and I
would have to agree. This software is superb,
and at the price (nothing) can't be beat. I know
I'll be using it heavily.

4. Final Word
I hope Chuck's interviews gave you a few
ideas for use in your own online business. He
certainly knows what he's talking about when it
comes to affiliate programs, as would have been
obvious from his interview.
My interview next week is with a couple -
Lana and Vincent Dorazio. Together they have
written an ebook that they are now selling
online (and quite successfully I might add).
The book has nothing to do with Internet
marketing. Rather, it is about saving money when
you buy your groceries. Their business is the
perfect example of finding a niche with ready
buyers who are interested in your product.
Till next week, I wish you much success in
your online business.
