1. From the Editor
Welcome to another issue of Achieve Net
Profits, brought to you by yours truly and
sponsored by... well, no one actually! ;-)
***
I always try to make sure that any product I
recommend is of an extremely high quality. I
don't want to recommend something just to make a
quick buck - that's not just unethical (in my
mind), but also a very stupid way to run a
business.
While it's easy to see if a product (book or
software) is of good quality (you read/use the
item first), its hard to tell if a service is
high quality. It may start off well, but then
develop problems later on.
Unfortunately, I've got to say a service I
recommended earlier in the year falls into that
category. I've lost confidence in Ultimate
Merchant (the company I use to send out this
newsletter), and can no longer recommend
them.
They've had a number of problems in the last
few months, the latest being that subscribing
via email (as opposed to using a web form) isn't
working... and hasn't since the start of
July!
[Update: in the hour since I wrote
this, email subscription is FINALLY working
again - sort of. While they are sending messages
out, the message is being sent as HTML instead
of plain text and they have set the font size of
the message to 0!]
This incident and other factors mean I'll be
moving this list in the next few weeks (probably
back onto my own server, using a script I'm
testing at the moment). The move shouldn't
affect how you receive the newsletter in any
way.

Many new products being released at the
moment seem to be taking advantage of the new
multimedia options now available.
What do I mean? I mean books that include (or
are solely made up of) movies, audio, or some
other type of multimedia presentation. Usually
(but not always) you have to view/listen to
these files on a server using your web browser -
you can't download the files to your
computer.
I'm a bit in two minds about this whole new
approach. On the plus side (with audio anyway),
you can listen to the product while you do other
things. So you don't have to sit down and read a
book for several hours - you can listen to it
while you're cleaning, cooking, working, or
whatever.
On the down side... I like to read (and on
paper, not the computer screen). Its handy to be
able to print out the book and read a few pages
whenever I get the chance - perhaps before going
to sleep at night, or during ad breaks while
watching TV.
Then there's the whole issue of requiring
Internet access to view/listen to the content if
you aren't able to download it to your own
computer.
If you have limited Internet access you might
not be able to listen/watch the content (or it
may cost you a lot of money to do so). And in a
few years time the server might have closed
down, meaning you are no longer able to access
the content you paid for.
Its an interesting topic that bears watching.
I'm not sure if it will become the 'new way' of
releasing ebooks online or not. I hope it
doesn't totally replace the standard ebook, but
I guess time will tell.

Thank you to everyone who voted on last weeks
interview. There were 15 votes, with a final
score of 4.47 out of 5.
Allan's interview was picked as the favorite
in the last survey I ran for the newsletter, so
I'm not too surprised at the high score it
received.

And now, on with the show!
The interview this week is with a lady you
may not have heard of before. Her name is Regena
English. She isn't known in the Internet
marketing world because she isn't an Internet
marketer.
Regena runs a successful online business
& newsletter - http://leatherspinsters.com
- for happily single women. In her interview she
talks about how she went about setting up the
business, the mistakes she made early on, and
more importantly what she learnt from them.
Most Internet marketing experts will tell you
to be really successful online you need to find
yourself a niche (and not Internet marketing,
because its too crowded!) This is exactly what
Regena did, and I feel you will learn a lot from
her story.
The new resource this week is by Bogdan
Ravaru, and has the unusual title of "Zombie
Marketing". No, Bogdan isn't talking about some
shambling undead walking the earth and working
in PR firms. He is talking about what you do
with the information you learn about marketing.
More on this book below.
I hope you enjoy this weeks issue. Don't
forget that you can view all the past issues

2. Interview - Regena English
Sorry, this interview is no longer available in the archives. It has been moved to the membership site. You can find out more about the membership site (and how to join) by visiting here.
3. Resources - Zombie Marketing
It's an interesting association to make -
zombies and marketing. Not two concepts that
most people (unless you hate marketers) would
put together.
[Come to think of it, you could take the
idea and turn it into a bad horror movie. Drat,
if only I was interested in shooting movies! ;-)
]
This short (4 page) report by Bogdan Ravaru
talks about a possibly controversial topic - why
how-to information "enslaves" you.
Of course, Bogdan doesn't just pose the
problem and leave it at that. He also passes on
his suggestions for how you can cure the
problem, and improve your online business as a
result.
An interesting and quick read.
This ebook is in PDF, so can be read by most
people. A link to the ebook has been added to
the "members only" section, along with the
existing collection of ebooks, ecourses, and
other useful sites.

4. Final Word
I hope you enjoyed Regena's interview - it
was certainly enjoyable for me doing the
interview - and that you got a lot out of it. At
the very least, I hope it inspired you to look
for your own niche. It may take some thinking,
but I'm sure you'll find one.
And when you become successful in your chosen
niche, be sure to drop me a note so I can
interview you about it! ;-)
My interview next week is with Chuck
McCullough. Chuck makes a very successful living
online with affiliate programs (and has also
written a book on the common mistakes affiliate
marketers make). His interview is very
interesting reading.
Till next week, I wish you much success in
your online business.
