1. From the Editor
First of all, if you missed last weeks
newsletter, it got sent
out a lot later than normal last week (Friday
evening US time).
The site which I use to send everything out had
a total system
failure - for most of the week I was unable to
access the system.
Every now and then it would seem to come up
briefly, only to fall
over again several minutes later.
Then when it did start working again, it managed
to get the
message personalization wrong inside the
newsletter (you may have
been called "JJ", or something else
entirely).
Needless to say, I'm not blown away by what
happened. The system
I use is called Ultimate Merchant, which is
really another name
for QuickPayPro. At least one marketer (Len
Thurmond) has had
enough of QuickPayPro's problems, and has moved
his business
elsewhere.
I'm ALMOST at that stage. No Internet business
is perfect, and
every system will fail at times (Aweber has been
down for several
days in the past, for example). And I like all
the new features
they have been bringing in recently (their
autoresponder in
particular is getting better and better).
But a repeat of last weeks incident will see me
moving. For the
moment I can't recommend Ultimate Merchant or
QuickPayPro to you
- I honestly don't know if they will be reliable
in the future or
not. Fingers crossed that they are!
Rosalind Gardner's new book, "The Super
Affiliate's Handbook",
continues to be mentioned around the net (and
for good reason
IMHO - I was so impressed by it that I added it
to my top 5
list).

Some of the talk has been on large sites vs
small sites in the
search engines - do large sites necessarily get
better results in
the search engines?
I'll come straight out and say no - I managed to
get my mini site
to #1 for its targeted keyphrase for a month
(I've now slipped to
#4), and that site is only 8 pages.
But it IS true that large sites have many things
going for them
in search engines. For a start, its easier to
get more people to
link to your site - which always helps with your
rankings. And a
larger site can target more keywords, so you
have a larger chance
of attracting new visitors.
However as one person commented, ultimately the
search engines
don't look at sites - just individual pages.
Whether your site
has 5 pages or 5,000 doesn't matter. It all
comes down to what
the page has on it, what other pages link to it,
and how they
link to it.
I said last week that the choice for building
mini sites or
content sites really comes down to you, and I'll
stick by that.
Both methods work - there is no denying it.
Both methods require you to do a lot of work -
there is no
getting around it.
Both methods can work via the free search
engines, PPC
advertising, or a mixture of both.
Neither method is "better" - they both have
their pros and cons.
Ultimately, it doesn't matter which way you go.
As long as you
actually get started doing something!
If you decide to try mini sites, Phil's guide is
a definite must.
You will learn everything you need to know about
picking your
topic, building the site, etc. And best of all,
you will get the
next version for free when he finally releases
it.

For content sites, I feel Rosalind's book is by
far the best book
on the subject I have ever read. It shows you
how to build your
entire business around content sites - and in
very clear, easy to
follow steps.

I would love to hear any success stories you
have, using either
method. And I'm always happy to find new people
to interview on
how they become successful! ;-) (of course, I'll
keep URLs secret
if you like)
Well I think its time to get this show on the
road, so onto
what's in store for you in the newsletter this
week.
I've had several suggestions in the past that I
interview myself.
Well, I've finally relented ;-) I don't know if
you will find the
interview helpful, but hopefully there is
something there that
will help you and your business.
The resource I have for you this week is another
book by Yanik
Silver and Jim Edwards, which talks about 7
different methods for
attracting more visitors to you web site. More
on it below.
I hope you enjoy it. Don't forget that you can

3. Resources - 7 Secrets To An Instant Traffic
Stampede
I swear I'm not becoming a "fan-boy" for
these two, but this
weeks resource is again by Yanik Silver and Jim
Edwards (last
weeks addition was as well).
To promote an upcoming event they are
running, Yanik and Jim have
released a 31 page report on the subject of the
event - getting
traffic to your web site.
(no, I'm not an affiliate - I get nothing if
you sign up at their
event).
While they have obviously left the juicy
details for the event,
Yanik and Jim have nicely summed up the 7
methods they feel are
the best way to get more traffic to your
site.
I don't know if I would call them "secrets" -
they are all fairly
well known. But it is good to read the comments
the two have
about each topic, and there are a few nuggets of
information in
the book which make it well worth reading.
Besides, if you've ever wanted to see either
of them dressed up
in cowboy costumes (stampede = wild west), this
book is your
chance ;-)
This ebook is in PDF, so can be read by most
people. A link to
the ebook has been added to the "members only"
section, along
with the existing collection of ebooks,
ecourses, and other
useful sites.

5. Final Word
I know some of you don't like cat stories,
but I've got to pass
this quick one on.
Our youngest cat - Discordia (well named) -
has now figured out
she can get into the front rooms of the house
(even if the doors
are closed), if the windows are open (we don't
have fly screen).
I spotted her jumping *out* of our bedroom as
I got home last
night - I suspect she was curled up on our bed,
but decided she'd
better make her getaway when she heard me come
home ;-)
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the interview I
did of myself. Next
weeks interview is a bit up in the air still - I
have two
interviews in progress, but which one will be
finished first is
anyones guess!
Till next week, I wish you much success in
your online business.
