1. From the Editor
Welcome to this weeks issue of Achieve Net
Profits. I hope this
issue finds you well.
Long time readers may remember that my wife and
I own 4 cats
(although it was only 3 when I first started
publishing this
newsletter. Then I interviewed Pamela Heywood
(who owns 6 or 7
cats), and she brainwashed me into getting
another one. At least
that's my story, and I'm sticking to it! ;-)
)
Anyway, confusion is reigning among the cats at
the moment. The
youngest one has had an upset stomach the last
month and a bit
(with the expected result in the litter box). So
the vet has
suggested we try her on a special cat food.
Since this food costs $35 for a 2.5kg bag, we
don't intend giving
it to all the cats! So instead of leaving food
down for them all
day (to munch on when they want), we have just
started feeding
them at set times (and taking the food away
after afterwards).
Needless to say, they are busily complaining at
the moment about
the change.
Its amazing how well a cat (or dog) can get
their message across
to you when they want to! ;-)
I was recently asked by a subscriber (Ewen Chia)
to have a look
at a new book he had written. I don't get many
of these (I'm not
a "big name" in Internet marketing), but when I
do I often find
the product is awful - over hyped recycled
rubbish that I
wouldn't recommend to my enemies, let alone
anyone I respected.
(Hmm, ok, maybe I would recommend products like
that to my
enemies =) ).
Thankfully, Ewen's book wasn't anything like
that at all.
"Turnkey Internet Profits" is a solid
introduction to running an
online business from your home, and covers all
the steps that you
need to go through when starting a business.
http://www.achievenetprofits.com/tip/
The book is divided into two parts. "Part One"
goes over the
initial steps you should follow before you post
your first ad,
write your first email, or create your first web
site. It covers
how to set up your business, and how to decide
what your
businesses 'niche' will be.
"Part Two" is the solid 'how-to' info. It takes
you through
setting up a newsletter, affiliate programs
(both promoting them,
and starting your own), ezine advertising,
search engines, and
marketing on the 'backend' (in other words,
following up with
people who have already bought from you).
I recommend another book for beginners - "Online
Business
Basics", by Angela Wu. How does "Turnkey
Internet Profits"
compare?
Very favorably. OBB covers more topics, but TIP
goes into greater
detail on the topics it does cover. In addition,
Ewen includes
links to free ebooks that include even more
detail, if you feel
you need extra information.
You won't find any unique ideas for running an
online business in
this book - it recommends a fairly standard
approach to getting
started online. But there is a good reason for
that. It works -
if you are willing to put the effort in!
This book is a great introduction for beginners
to Internet
marketing, and even people who are nearing an
'intermediate'
level will probably find some useful
information. It gets my
"thumbs up" recommendation.

will load
eventually!)
Once again its time to tell you a bit about what
I have in store
for you this week!
My interview this week is with Matthew Seigneur.
Matthew has had
a lot of success with something that everyone
has an opinion on -
network marketing (often known by the three
letters M, L and M).
To be honest I didn't know a lot about network
marketing, so I
figured it was time to find out a bit more. And
while there are a
lot of scammers out there (as in any area),
Matthew talked about
how to find a genuine program that is right for
you, and (more
importantly) how to succeed with that program.
Very interesting
reading!
I have two new resources for you this week. The
first is an
ecourse that all new subscribers to Achieve Net
Profits are now
receiving. The second is a recent report Neil
Shearing released
on his experiences promoting one of his products
(Internet
Success Spider) on Google Adwords. More on both
below.
I hope you enjoy it. Don't forget that you can

all the past issues online at

3. Resources - Subscriber
ecourse, Adwords experiment
Two new resources for you this week! Although
for some people the
first new resource isn't that new.
Since the start of last week, all new
subscribers to Achieve Net
Profits have been receiving a 5 part ecourse I
wrote. The ecourse
has been put together from material from all the
past interviews.
It is similar to the two "best of" articles I
have published,
except this time I have added my own thoughts
and comments
between the quoted material.
I'd like to say I highly recommend it, but
since I wrote it I
might be a bit biased ;-)

The second resource is a new report by Neil
Shearing
titled "How I Threw $2470.06 Down The Google
Adwords Toilet!". It
talks about the results of advertising one of
his product
(Internet Success Spider) using Google
Adwords.
As you can gather from the title, the end
result was... less than
spectacular =) Six sales (two of those were
later refunded), and
one attempted scam sale.
The report covers the methods they used to
set up the test, how
they tracked the results (always very
important), and what they
changed as they went along.
The report is very interesting reading. As an
added bonus, they
have included the PHP script they used to track
which keywords
people were using to search on when they clicked
on the paid ad.
This could be very handy if you are planning on
trying your own
Adwords experiment.
This report is in PDF format, so should be
readable on all
computers. A link to the report has been added
to the "members
only" section, along with the existing
collection of ebooks,
ecourses, and other useful sites.

4. Final Word
I hope you enjoyed Matthew's interview this
week. Network
marketing does have a bad reputation as far as
some people are
concerned, but hopefully Matthew's information
will help you if
you decide to try it.
My interview next week is with Rebekah Nahai.
Rebekah wrote a
book recently on how to use forums to make more
sales, build your
newsletter list and grow your business (its on
my "Recommended
Products" list in the members only section).
I talked with her a bit on how she got
started online and (not
surprisingly) the topic of using forums to help
your business.
Till next week, I wish you much success in
your online business.
